Discover Wat Xieng Thong Temple Wat Xieng Thong, located at the end of Sakkarin road, is the most important temple in Luang Prabang. The temple was built in 1560 under King Setthathirat dynasty. On the major holidays of the year and especially at night, Xieng Thong temple becomes extremely crowded, because countless people come to the temple to admire the golden Buddha statue and actually attended the Buddha watering ceremony with scented water and perfume. Note: Entrance fee is charged for foreign visitors from 8 am to 17 pm. At other time, visitors can take a tour around the temple campus and feel free to chat with the monks here. 2. Relax in Kuang Si Waterfalls Kuang Si is a complex of three waterfalls, in which the main cascade is 60m high with foaming whitewater pouring down from above, creating a dramatic scene. As one of the most attractive tourist destinations of the Land of Million Elephants, the waterfall offers you the chance to not only swim in its turquoise-watered natural pools but also join in a lot of exciting games and challenges. Pay a Visit to Pak Ou caves Located in the north of Luang Prabang, Pak Ou Caves is rated in the top attractions in Mekong River Basins. Pak Ou is actually a temple complex lying among stunning limestone karst, which houses thousands of mysterious Buddha statues and hidden images.
