EMOLUMENTS After implementation of the 6th Pay Commission, the pay packet of the Army Officers have been increased substantially and now almost matches those of the corporate salaries. • As trainees at IMA or OTA, the Gentlemen Cadets receive Rs 21,000/- per month as stipend during the training period • An officer on commissioning receives about Rs 38,000/- as salary • If posted to field areas, the take-home salary can increase to about Rs 50,000/- • Within 13 years of service, officers are placed in the Pay band – 4 which is the highest salary slab of the Central Govt

Written Exam followed by SSB and after clearing SSB, undergo Med. Join NDA based on Merit. At NDA – 3 yrs trg ,Deg Awarded (JNU), thereafter 1 yr at IMA/ AFA/ NA – Commissioned Officer.

  36. 10 + 2 TECHNICAL ENTRY SCHEME HOW TO JOIN INDIAN ARMY Apply to Army HQ Based on the Notification Proceed to nominated SSB On clearing SSB and Med and if in Merit Join IMA - 1 yr Basic Mil Trg – thereafter- At Cadet Trg Wings(CME - Pune,MCTE- Mhow and CEME - Secundrabad)for 4 yrs Tech Trg Commissioned after three yrs during Tech Trg. NO ante date seniority.

  37. NDA AND 10+2 (TES)- MED STDS HOW TO JOIN INDIAN ARMY FOR GORKHAS AND INDIVIDUALS BELONGING TO HILLS OF NORTH EASTERN REGIONS OF INDIA, GARHWAL AND KUMAON, THE MINIMUM ACCEPTABLE HEIGHTS WILL BE 5 CMS LESS. IN CASE OF CANDIDATES FROM LAKSHDWEEP THE MINIMUM HEIGHT CAN BE REDUCED BY 2 CMS.

  40. GRADUATES ENTRY – IMA(Men Only) OTA ( Men and Women) HOW TO JOIN INDIAN ARMY Exams held in Feb and Oct every year • Centre’s of Exam – All across the country. For IMA both papers, OTA only General Ability Test. Written Exam followed by SSB and after clearing SSB, undergo Med. Join IMA/OTA based on Merit. OTA – 49 weeks SSC. IMA -1½ yr PRC.

  41. HOW TO JOIN INDIAN ARMY UNIVERSITY ENTRY SCHEME (TECH) – IMA (Men) Age – 18 to 24 for Pre Final Yr and 19 to 25 for Final Yr • Apply based on Notfn to Nominated Comd HQ. Comd Select Teams Visit various colleges/institutes as per pgme promulgated by them and undertake selection process to select candidates to proceed for SSB. Call up letters are issued for SSB to those selected. After SSB selected candidates undergo Med Exam. Final Merit prep thereafter for joining IMA After one yr trg at IMA, Commissioned in Tech Arms with two yrs ante date seniority.

Graduates with 50% mks & with ‘B’ Grade in NCC ‘C’ Cert are eligible to apply. NCC Dte Interviews Candidates who apply and short listed candidates are selected for SSB. After SSB and Med, those in Merit join OTA. After 49 weeks of trg at OTA Commissioned as Short Service Commissioned Offr .

  44. GRADUATE/POST GRADUATE (MALE) – MED STDS FOR GORKHAS AND INDIVIDUALS BELONGING TO HILLS OF NORTH EASTERN REGIONS OF INDIA, GARHWAL AND KUMAON, THE MINIMUM ACCEPTABLE HEIGHTS WILL BE 5 CMS LESS. IN CASE OF CANDIDATES FROM LAKSHDWEEP THE MINIMUM HEIGHT CAN BE REDUCED BY 2 CMS.
