ACF supports government to address acute malnutrition in Saptari District through Community Based Management of Acute Malnutrition ( >3000 SAM CASES CURED & AROUND 50% UNDER 5 CHILDREN SCREENED WITHIN 15 MTH), conducting nutrition surveys (SMART SURVEY 2013: GAM: 21%), Coverage Assessment (SQUEAC 2013: 40.9%) and Capacity Building (>1500 MOH STAFFS/VOLUNTEERS). At present the district has about 16,000 under five children with Severe and Moderate Acute Malnutrition During the implementation of this program ACF faced the huge complexity of the root causes of this phenomenon.
