  1. School-to-Work By Patrick Gillis & Griffin Dane

  2. Question 1 Our plan is to find the entire area of the rectangle (b*h). Then, find the area of the “Cabinets” by drawing lines to break the irregular shapes into regular shapes. There will be two rectangles (b*h), and a trapezoid, h (B+b) /2. It should look like this: 10 ft2 10*2=20 ft2 2 ft2 8 ft2 5 ft2 5*2=10 ft2 13 ft2 3 ft2 2 ft2 2(4+3)/2=7 ft2 2 ft2 4 ft2 18*13=234 ft2 18 ft2

  3. Full Area:(b*h)= 18*13 234 sq. ft. Cabinets Area: 16+4+10+9=39 sq. ft. Full-Cabinets: 234-39= 195 sq. ft.

  4. 60/780 195*4= 780 Question 2 Number of square feet to be tiled ___ 13 Number of minutes in one hour ___ 780 At a rate of 4 minutes per 1 tile installation, It will take 13 hours to install all tiles. Number of minutes To install all tiles 0

  5. Question 3 We will charge $33 per hour because the high hourly pay in 2002 was $27, and prices have gone up since then. According to the following website, today’s tile and granite installers make between $10.53- $33.66: http://www.ehow.com/info_7752064_ average-salary-floor-installers.html This price may seem high, but considering that we are only a two-man company, it is a very good price. Not only that, we will get the job done whenever you need, and will try to finish even faster and more efficiently! If you want the work done in 2 days, we’ll do it in 2 days, if 3 days, we’ll do it in 3 days or less! You will not feel like you are overpaying us when we’re done, because we will do great work and do it in half of the time!

  6. Question 4 This expression represents the main costs we need to consider for charging the kitchen owner. (13*33)+(t*195)+(60+46+23) Price of tiles Number of hours of labor Price of thin set Amount of money we will charge per hour Number of tiles Price of tile spacers Price of grout

  7. Question 5 This expression represents the main costs, again, but with tile that costs $8 per square foot. (13*33)+(8*195)+(60+46+23) 429+1560 + 129 $1,989 $2,118

  8. We will be charging $2,118 to do the work for the kitchen. First, the 13 hours of labor is $429.Then, the cost for all of the tiles is $1,560, and thecost for the grout, thin set, & tile spacers is $129. That comes out to $2,118. That is why we are charging $2,118 overall for the work we will do for the kitchen tile installing.
