  2. INTRODUCTION Method engineering / Operation analysis / Work design / Coorporate re-engineering merupakan suatu ilmu yang terdiri dari teknik-teknik dan prinsip-prinsip untuk mendapatkan rancangan terbaik dari sistem kerja.

INTRODUCTION Teknik-Teknik dan Prinsip-Prinsip ini Digunakan untuk Komponen – Komponen Sistem Kerja yang Terdiri dari : • Manusia dengan Sifat, Kemampuan dan Keterbatasannya, • Bahan, • Perlengkapan dan Peralatan Kerja, serta • Lingkungan Kerja, sedemikian rupa sehingga dicapai Tingkat Efisiensi dan Produktifitas yang Tinggi, diukur dengan : • Waktu yang Dihabiskan, • Tenaga yang Dipakai, serta • Akibat Psikologis dan Sosiologis yang Ditimbulkannya ( Sumber : Iftikar Sutalaksana )

TUJUAN METHODS ENGINEERING : • Meminimalkan waktu penyelesaian pekerjaan, • Perbaikan kesinambungan dari mutu dan reliabilitas produk dan jasa • Penghematan resources dan ongkos melalui penggunaan bahan – bahan langsung dan tidak langsung yang tepat dalam memproduksi barang dan jasa • Mempertimbangkan ketersediaan power dengan hati-hati • Memaksimalkan keselamatan, kesehatan, dan kesejahteraan pegawai • Melindungi lingkungan • Meningkatkan daya tarik pekerjaan dan kepuasaan pegawai ( Sumber : Niebel& Freivalds, ( 2003 )
