Focus on Strategic Area: Membership Value and Engagement • Position the College as the professional home for the entire CV care team. • Sustain physician and CV care team membership by creating and communicating member value, focusing on subspecialty and special interest areas. • Recruit, engage and develop Fellows in Training (FIT), Training Director and Early Career members. • Create strategic partnerships with other CV societies, as well as other medical specialty groups.

  3. Focus on Strategic Area: Population Health • Develop partnerships with organizations and other stakeholder groups to pursue national and international population health objectives related to CV disease health. • Support members in their expanded accountability to improve the health of populations. • Encourage CV team-facilitated patient education.

  4. Focus on Strategic Area: Data Information and Knowledge • Become the premier knowledge source for unbiased clinical CV data. • Continue to be the primary, trusted source for CV data collection, aggregation and reporting. • Use data to generate science and improve clinical practice consistent with the Triple Aim. • Pursue business opportunities and strategic alliances related to these CV data that are consistent with the ACC’s mission and leverage the College’s cardiovascular expertise.

Focus on Strategic Area: Transformation of Care • Support members in the appropriate use of new, transformational scientific technologies and therapies. • Explicitly integrate the Triple Aim into all aspects of the College’s activities in order to help members navigate the transition from a volume-based health care system to one that is focused on value. • Define and support optimal CV team-based care, including related workforce and scope of practice considerations.

  6. Focus on Strategic Area: Purposeful Education • Provide and promote a personalized, competency-based, clinically relevant educational experience. • Leverage new delivery technology and evolving learning methods to facilitate continuous performance improvement, optimal practice management and improved outcomes across patient populations. • Focus on educational tools and programs that improve members’ clinical, administrative and leadership competencies and position them for success in a transformed system.

  7. Focus on Strategic Area: Advocacy • Be a leading voice in shaping public policy at the federal and state level to achieve better care, better outcomes, and lower cost in the provision and improvement of high quality, cost-effective CV care for patients and populations. • Expand the reach of ACC’s advocacy efforts, including an increased emphasis on state advocacy and payer relationships. • Empower ACC members to become effective advocates for patients and CV professionals.
