Journals/Bellwork Monday-Video Day Tuesday-Random Wednesday-Textbook day Thursday-Random Friday-Summary • First thing you do EVERYDAY! • We will start with writing @ least 4 sentences & increase throughout the year. • Do NOT leave this class • I grade these at semester’s end, they are worth 200 pts • Not grading grammar or spelling…but please don’t write short sentences

  5. Discipline Guidelines: Strike System • First Strike is a warning • Second Strike earns you 10 minutes of lunch detention and refocus sheet • Third Strike earns you an entire lunch period, refocus & possibly referral • If you earn even 1 per week, no privileges on the last day of the week.

  6. Lab Instruction • NO HORSEPLAY • Stay in your station • Always follow directions! • Clean up…leave things BETTER than the way you found them • When you are done, go sit down • Listen for the stoplight. • Whiz kid

  7. Things to Know • Homework-given EVERY Monday due EVERY Friday (or last day of the week) • Late work-accepted until unit is over then you must attend Saturday school • Tardy policy • Absence • I am the bell; I dismiss you = ) • Eating & Drinking in class

  8. Following Directions • Raise your hand • Don’t get our of your seat w/out permission • Bathroom/Locker-sign out sheet • Pencils & paper • Gum chewing • Gum ball machine • Cell Phone Basket

  9. In Conclusion • No profanity • Throwing things • Talking to people coming in • Spit balls • Writing on my chalkboard/ whiteboard • Mailbox • Substitutes • Computer/internet use • Plagiarism/ cheating
