  2. Pathways Forward for ACE • ACE System • New and Enhanced Capabilities • Research Applications • Education Opportunities

  3. ACE System - Today

  4. ACE System - Future

  5. New and Enhanced Capabilities (1 of 2) • Chat • ACE Groups have group specific chat rooms • Users may create additional chat rooms in each group • Enhanced data security • Data router capability • Provides caching of data capabilities • Re-projects data layers as necessary for ACE • Improved WMS support • GetCapabilities now pulls in all layers – prior one layer at a time • Legend support • WMS Query to view data values (if provider supports)

  6. New and Enhanced Capabilities (2 of 2) • Projection of plain imagery on maps • Control points used to drape image on ACE maps • Support for YouTube videos • Future • Direct user creation on ACE of annotations, place marks, polygons, polylines • Support for future OGC standards (e.g. WMST) • Consolidated user-selectable map projections • Catalog with user definable categories • Styling of WMS (color ramping on raster images) • Improved time and multi-dimensional support • Additional data type support, GRIB, HDF, Shapefile, GPX etc. • Data subset and export • Data charting (2D, cross-sectional analysis)
