  14. SPIRITUAL ARCHITECTURE The “structure” that creates, inspires, and gives space for a more spiritual approach to work and life.

  16. Spiritual Organisation ? Organisation Structure Rituals and Routines Power and Control Leadership Role Models Stories and Myths Symbols SPIRITUAL ARCHITECTURE

  17. Organisation Structure What words would you use to describe your organisation’s structure: pyramid, maze, labyrinth, tower, ……? What does this say about the culture of your organisation? What would you change to make it more “spiritual”?

  18. Power and Control Where does the power lie in your organisation? What words would you use to describe the atmosphere this power creates? How is power exerted, and how does it make you feel? What would you change to make it more “spiritual”?

  19. Rituals and Routines We understand religious ritual, but does this in itself convey spirituality? In your work environment what are the rituals or routines, formal or informal, including “routine behaviour” towards each other, that create its culture? What would you change to make these more “spiritual”?

  20. Leadership Role Models Who are the leadership role models, at any level, in your organisation? Do these role models encourage or discourage concern about deeper, more spiritual issues? What would you change to make these more “spiritual”?

  21. Stories and Myths What are the stories, folklore, gossip, internal and external perceptions, and myths in your organisation? Do these stories make you feel good about your work place, or the opposite? What stories do you want to hear, that would suggest it is more “spiritual”?

  22. Symbols What are the outward and visible signs that reflect what is going on in the heart of your organisation? Logos, desks, chairs, cars, titles, dress, language, lavatories, car park… What do these tell you, and what would you change?

  23. THE SPIRITUAL ORGANISATION Spiritual Organisation When you put all these “building blocks” together, do they add up to what you would call a “spiritual organisation”? If not, what needs to change first? And how will youmake that happen to create the good workplace of the future?
