European Structural & Investment Funding Strategy (ESIF)£40.33m (47.1m Euros) • INVESTMENT PRIORITIES: • Driving Business Growth & Innovation (£15.6m) • TO1 – Strengthening Research, Technological Development & Innovation • TO3 – Enhancing the competitiveness of Small & Medium Enterprises • Reducing the Carbon Footprint (£6.53m) • TO4 – Supporting the shift towards a low carbon economy • Supporting & Improving the labour market & workforce (£18.2m) • TO8 – Promoting employment & supporting labour mobility • TO9 – Promoting Social inclusion & combating poverty • TO10 – Investing in Education, Skills and Lifelong Learning

European Structural & Investment Funding Strategy (ESIF) • HOW: • 68% through Opt-in organisations • DWP, SFA, Big Lottery, UKTI, MAS, • Remainder by direct application in response to prospectuses • Requires 50% match funding. • Establishing a Local Area Partnership (LAP) • To agree and oversee the delivery of the fund in Dorset • WHEN: • 31 May 2014 - Final revised Strategy submitted to Government • July-Oct 2014 - Further guidance due • From 2015 - Start spending • December 2020 - Funding ends
