ARC Exists . . . • Facilitate discussion of local, regional and national issues • Serve as incubators of new ideas • Act as a two-way conduit to allow the broadest, most inclusive conversation among OCLC staff and Members • Encourage participation of Memory Institutions

Date and Location of First Meetings • ALA Chicago ,July 9, 2009, 4 – 8 pm. ARC Meeting and Dinner for MC delegates continuing to the Global Council • Can call into meeting available • Agenda distributed soon. • “Service Group” • Planning for Other Meetings
Date and Locations . . . • ALA Midwinter Boston, January 16, 2010 • Raise Awareness of ARC • Have in conjunction with OCLC Symposium • Explain upcoming annual meeting • Some virtual component
Dates and Locations . . . • First Regional Council Meeting at ALA Washington, D.C. June 2010 • Attendance ca.500 – 800 • Virtual Component Using ALA as a convenient association for first year because of cost control and large attendance

What Would Success Look Like? • Raised awareness of ARC and GC above what the awareness of MC is now among the Members • Conduct a sound election process that engages Members and results in good GC Delegates and ARC officers and Executive Council • Engage Members in Boston and DC Meetings and establish a good foundation for two-way communication
