  1. Happy 44th National Day United Arab Emirates! The second of December every year marks the formal union of the United Arab Emirates in 1971. It marks the UAE’s formal nationalization from the British Protectorate Treaties which ended on December 1, 1971 and the eventual, federal unification of the seven emirates in 1971 which combined to form the modern-day country, headed by Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the federation’s first president. Grand celebrations are held across the country to mark the event. It is one of the main occasions that the UAE nationalities and expats celebrate alike. With the approach of the national day, people start to decorate their offices, homes, cars, parks and building externals with UAE flags, colorful ribbons, lighting and other decorations that symbolizes the culture of the country. Moreover, the chief government authorities such as the Ministry of Education & Ministry of Interior Affairs celebrate the national day by suggesting their employees to wear the Emirati traditional costume and hold flags. Melodies of the national anthem are also played as part of the national day spirit. Embassies of other countries in UAE share this happiness and celebrate the national day with the UAE society.

  2. Showing Appreciation to the leaders Even in schools, children and teachers celebrate the national day in various ways. Teachers explain to students the meaning of national day and how the dearly departed Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al-Nahyan had strived to unite this country, make it one big strong division and part of the GCC union. In this day, portraits of all the leaders of the UAE including Sheikh Zayed are also used to decorate the government authorities as an appreciation symbol to their contributions and giving. Spirit of the Union With the huge population of expats in UAE, they tend to celebrate the UAE national day hand by hand with UAE nationals, sharing with them the happiness and pride of the successful achievements that the UAE has been up to. UAE had always been a pillar of support and a source of generosity to its residents, that’s why, they feel pleased to celebrate the national day and express their happiness of living in such a great country. The harmony of residents and locals of the UAE, and how they celebrate together is a beautiful example of people with different backgrounds that come together to showcase their love for the country.

  3. 44th National Day This year, the national day will be celebrated on a bigger scale as the UAE have been participating actively in the last few months with its neighboring countries in a mission to keep the GCC union safe and sound. The heroes of the UAE will be one of the main pillars of the celebrations to show them that their contributions and sacrifices are appreciated. Etisalat Yellow Pages sends its warm greetings to the UAE government and people on the occasion of the 44th national day!
