  1. Department of Homeland Security Recommendation 19: The NWS should develop common hazardous weather resources, tips, and advice, such as a website, to facilitate IWTs year-round. WFOs should alternately host and participate in these IWT workshops with their local weather enterprise partners, including health and aging services, local indigenous populations, military installations, and other previously overlooked partners. Northern Indiana IWT Community of Practice Recommendation 20: The NWS should strongly encourage its core partners (i.e., members of the EM community; Federal, state, and local governments; and members of the media) to become more involved in IWTs to better enable them to serve the public. Recommendation 21: The IWTs should develop educational outreach activities about protective actions in complex events such as sheltering in place during violent tornadoes and multiple hazards, including flash flooding.
