  2. Sometimes you must use a comma to make the reader pause in the appropriate place in the sentence in order to prevent misreading.

  3. Reading your work aloud, to yourself or to a friend, is a good way to identify the places in the sentence where commas are needed.

  4. Here are some Examples on how you can Prevent Misreading Example- I love watching animals eating Italian food and listening to music. I love watching animals, eating Italian food, and listening to music.

  5. Examples- What is wrong with this sentence? When my grandfather turned 100 150 people came to his party. Correct Answer- When my grandfather turned 100, 150 people came to his party.

  6. What is wrong with this sentence? If you cook Rick will do the dishes. Correct Answer- If you cook, Rick will do the dishes.

  7. What is wrong with this sentence? Let’s eat Grandma! Correct: Let’seat, Grandma!

  8. What is wrong with this sentence? Did the lion eat Fred? Correct: Did the lion eat, Fred?

  9. What is wrong with this sentence? When I turned forty seven people wished me a Happy Birthday! Correct: When I turned forty, seven people wished me a Happy Birthday!
