  3. Answers • Exponent – tells us how many times the base number is used as a factor. Example: 23 = 2  2  2 = 8 • Standard Form – a number written with one digit for each place value. Example: five thousand two hundred ten in standard form is 5,210 • Expanded Form – a way to write numbers that shows the value of each digit. Example: 236,536 = 200,000 + 30,000 + 6,000 + 500 + 30 + 6
