  3. Lets Learn About Shapes! Lets take a look at two – dimensional figures. • Square • Circle • Ellipse • Triangle • Rectangle • Rhombus • Trapezoid • Parallelogram • Pentagon • Hexagon

  4. Edges and Vertices Shapes have edges and vertices, edges means sides. How many edges does a rectangle have? How many vertices does a rectangle have? Answer : 4 Answer : 4

  5. Making New Shapes • New shapes can be made from another shape. • You can combine shapes. • You can cut shapes apart . • What shape can be made out of a triangle? Answer : Diamond or Parallelogram

  6. 3 Dimensional Objects 3 dimensional objects have faces. Answer : 6 Answer : 3 How many faces does a cube have? How many faces does a cylinder have?
