  1. Basic Search How to find a magazine article using the MasterFILE Premier database

  2. Start on the Library home page Click Databases by Subject

  3. Click the link to MasterFILE Premier It is in the first group of database links. If you are at home, the computer will ask for your CSI login now.

  4. Basic search screen Type the keywords that you want in the search box, with the word AND between them. No need to type a full question.

  5. Results list The Basic Search looks for your words in titles, author names, subjects, and article abstracts, and shows you the top 20 of the results.

  6. Narrow the results list (1) 589 articles too many? Try clicking the Full Text button at the left.

  7. Narrow the results list (2) Another way to reduce the number of hits is to add another search word. Let’s look for articles related to eating.
