  1. 5 Ways to Go Green with Your Bathroom

  2. It’s a big, but vulnerable world that we live in, and when we don’t look after it properly, the consequences impact all of us. • For a long time, environmentally-conscious people were in the minority. For most of human history, most people were too busy rushing around to stop and think about the world around them. • Now, the eco-revolution is upon us. Year on year, more and more people are beginning to think about their impact on the environment, and what they can do to reduce their carbon footprint. • One way to do this is to greenovate your home - making small changes here and there to improve your environmental impact - and where better to start than your bathroom?

  3. Use Eco-Friendly and Homemade Bathroom Products • Almost every single item in your bathroom could be more environmentally friendly - it just takes a bit of looking. Does your brand of toilet paper commit to planting trees? Are your shower gels, hand washes, and moisturisers sustainably sourced? Investing in eco-friendly products may cost a few extra dollars here and there, but as eco-consciousness grows and more and more sustainable products are produced, prices will start falling. • For example, our Air Shower has a 4-star WELS rating, which saves over 70% more water than the average showerhead. • When it comes to cleaning products for the bathroom, ditch the bottles that sport a jarring skull and crossbones hazard warning - just a hint that they’re not the safest of products - and get your DIY gloves on. • Simple household items such as white vinegar, baking soda, and lemon are incredibly effective alternatives to harsh chemicals that cause damage to both you and the environment. Even better than these eco-friendly alternatives are shower heads that clean themselves! We are serious, they exist…...see them here.

  4. Switch to LED Light Bulbs • Did you know that LED bulbs last approximately 25 times longer than standard bulbs, and use around about 80% less energy? In the past, the quality of LED lights wouldn’t exactly suit a modern bathroom environment, but they’ve come a long way since their inception. • Now, LED lights can replicate the warm glow of your regular bulbs, and you’ll be pleasantly surprised when your energy bill drops through your letterbox, making LED lights a smart purchase not only for the environment, but for your own pocket.

  5. Install an AIR Shower • When people have installed low-flow shower heads in the past, they’ve found they’ve had to compromise on the quality of their shower. While they benefit from saving water and energy, and therefore money, they suffer from a lack of water pressure. With an AIR Shower, this problem is solved. • AIR Showers work by infusing each droplet of water with air, providing you with a full stream that is gentle on your skin while using a fraction of the water of a standard shower head. • Not only are AIR Showers massively beneficial for the environment and your wallet, they’re also incredibly easy to install. Within 5 minutes, you could be well on your way to reducing your carbon footprint.

  6. Look at Low-Flow Toilets • You might not know it, but your toilet consumes more water than your shower, your dishwasher, and your washing machine. • In fact, it uses about 27% of the water in your home. So it goes without saying that installing a low-flow toilet could significantly reduce your water usage. • Another option is to replace your toilet with one that offers a dual-flush mechanism. This way, you can be flushing as little as 0.8 gallons of water for liquid waste, and just 1.6 gallons for solid waste. Compared to the 7 gallons a regular toilet consumes every time you flush, this is a massive saving.

  7. Ditch the Bathtub • We love a good bath as much as the next person, but running one can use as much as 7 times the amount of energy used to take a quick shower. • Getting rid of your tub completely is no small task, but if you’re really looking for a way to save water and energy, and give the environment a helping hand, ditching the tub and committing to an AIR shower might be the way forward.
