  2. Focus on the impact of the LDPB work on carers over the last 12 months. • Consider some of the issues around building carers’ confidence in the LDPB What I want to do today:

  3. The last 12 months. I have looked carefully at minutes and reports over the last 12 months and carefully considered feedback from carers.

  4. Do family carers have confidence in the LDPB? • Carers understand the issues around the current economic climate but what has the Board done to reassure carers? • Is the glass of confidence ½ full or ½ empty?

  5. Is the glass of confidence • ½ full or ½ empty? What the Board has done to build carers’ confidence. • Discussed a range of important issues. • Consulted, providing updates and information.

  6. Is the glass of confidence • ½ full or ½ empty? • Make a positive difference. • Address issues rather than discuss. • Develop and use its teeth to address the right issues. What the Board is failing to do to build confidence: • Scrutinise the underlying problems. e.g.

  7. Is the LDPB broken? • Is confidence broken? • Only 4 meeting of the Exec. (at least 6) • Only 3 meetings of the Assembly. (quarterly) • Very poor attendance of the designated Senior Manager reps from Adult Social Services. (25%) • Nothing ever voted on.
