Promotion Earned at least twelve (12) credits including two credits in language arts and two credits in math, as well as remedial reading for students scoring Level 1 or 2 on the FCAT Reading the previous year to be classified as a junior. Must take remediation classes until FCAT is passed Must earn at least eighteen (18) total credits to be classified as a senior.

    12. SAT and ACT Register online Universities require the SAT or the ACT with Writing. Students can request test scores to be sent to colleges either at the time of test registration (free) or for a fee at a later date Scores must be sent back to CBJ/SHS to qualify for Bright Futures Test score must appear on your high school transcript New online options to test standby Students should take both exams, since most colleges use the best composite/total score for admission and scholarship purposes Students should take each exam more than once, since most colleges use the highest subscores to create the ACT composite and SAT total

    13. Accelerated Programs Advanced Placement/IB Courses Dual Enrollment at BCC AA Degree classes (3.0 GPA) with qualifying test scores AS Degree classes (2.5 GPA) Vocational Certificate (2.0 GPA) Early Admissions (3.0 GPA) by the end of junior year with qualifying test scores.

Florida Bright Futures Florida Academic Scholar 3.5 weighted GPA 16 credits of college preparatory academic courses 75 hours community service Community service does not count for Bright Futures UNTIL approved plan is submitted. Must turn in proposal into Mr. Primus in Front Office. Essay completed upon completion of 75 hours Best composite score of 1270 SAT or 28 ACT Florida Medallion Scholar 3.0 weighted GPA 16 credits of college preparatory academic classes Best composite score of 980 SAT or 21 ACT Attend a FL Community College seeking an AS Degree = 100% tuition & fees Florida Gold Seal Vocational 3.0 grade point average in the 16 credits necessary for graduation In addition, must have a 3.5 grade point average in a vocational program (at least 3 credits) Test scores on SAT/ACT OR CPT are required Students will complete a Bright Futures application at school after December 1st in their senior year.

Research Colleges Visit college campuses Three days allowed for college visits Written request from parent submitted to Mrs. Gaudy in Attendance at least one week prior to the scheduled college visit; documentation upon return. Do both college tours and open houses Take advantage of college visits on the CBHS campus Request additional information from the schools on your list including an application for admission, costs, and financial aid. Check college websites all colleges have different admission requirements and deadlines Many colleges recommend or require SAT II subject tests for admission or placement.
