Loan 2151-IND Project Brief • J&K Economic Reconstruction Agency (ERA) is a Special Purpose Vehicle constituted by Govt. of Jammu & Kashmir for executing external aided projects and has been registered as a society under J&K societies registration act (1941 AD) • The first project taken up by J&K ERA is “Multisector Project for Infrastructure Rehabilitation” (MIRP) in Jammu and Kashmir funded by ADB at a cost of 250 USMD Originally 1125 Crore INR (@ 1$=Rs.45) Present Value Rs.1000 Crores only. (1$=Rs.40) • The Project (MIRP) is primarily designed for the rehabilitation of essential infrastructure in the urban and transport sectors of J&K. • Loan from ADB was approved on 21 December 2004 and signed on 17 March 2005, & is effective from :13 may 2005.

Loan 2151-IND Project Brief • The envisaged cost of project was 358 US Million Dollars. • ADB: 250 US million Dollars • Govt. of India & State Govt.: 108 US million Dollars • The Project is scheduled to be completed by 31 Dec 2009. • The physical progress of project is monitored through online PMIS developed in-house and can be accessed through J&K ERA portal (www.jkera.org) • The day to day accounting and financial monitoring of projects is done using Accounting Software, and it reflects on online PMIS through secured links.

Loan 2331-IND Project Brief • The 2nd project taken up by J&K ERA is “Urban Sector Development Investment Program” (Proj1) in Jammu and Kashmir funded by ADB at a cost of 42.20 USMD (168.8 Crore INR) under loan 2331-IND. • The Project (USDIP) is designed for urban sector development of the state and is part of Multi Tranche Loan. • Loan 2331-IND was approved on 4 June 2007 Signed on 28-Dec-2007. the project is scheduled to be completed by 31 Oct 2012. • Loan 2331-IND (Proj-1) has become effective w.e.f 27th March 2008. • Evaluation of technically best DSC will be send to ADB for approval in 3rd week of April. Similar action in respect of PSC will follow in 1st week of may-2008.

Loan 2331-IND Project Brief • Negotiations to be concluded by June-July 2008 for both DSC & PSC. • Project Director (central) Urban Specialist for Loan II under orders of posting. • New building premises has been hired adjacent to present office at Jammu. • State pollution control board has given its n.o.c for STP in Jammu city on 11th March 2008 (Drainage Sub Project, Jammu).
