  3. Gaviota Beach Road Bridge No. 51C-324 • Situation on February 2, 1998 • Debris blocked flow under bridge and washed out the north approach roadway

  4. Gaviota Beach Road Bridge No. 51C-324 • Immediately following the 1998 storm, a concrete road approach was constructed • Repaired north approach road.

Gaviota Beach Road Bridge No. 51C-324 • FEMA –H.M.P. 406 100% approved funding for bridge replacement with all-weather crossing @ $3.8 Million Dollars • FEMA = 75% OES = 25% • Request for Proposals for design services – May 2002 • Contract Awarded to Quincy Engineering-June 2002 • URS Corp preparing EIR/EA

  6. Gaviota Beach Road Bridge No. 51C-324 Preferred Project Selection Project Development Team • Determined criteria for design • Gathered input from Hollister Ranch and State Parks • Developed alternatives providing the greatest service with the least disruption
