Summary of new features • Overview of the planned* new features that will be released in the fall 2006 upgrade of ISI Web of Knowledge. • Full Name support • Citation Report • Distinct Author Identification System (DAIS) • BIOSIS Archive • ZR Archive • Web Citation Index - product release * The details of this release is subject to change and the date of the release is not fixed. Formal communication of the upgrade will be sent to all registered ISI Web of Knowledge users.

  3. Full author names Starting September 2006 authors names in the same format as they appear on the original article will be indexed and displayed in the Web of Science. Future releases will include the ability to search.

  4. Citation Report – A new tool from Thomson Scientific Statistical summary of search results. Provides instant analysis of citation statistics, such as total and average citation count and the h-index. Also includes graphical summaries and the ability to save to file.

  5. Distinct Author Identification System (DAIS) The Distinct Author Identification System uses citation data to create clusters of articles by a particular author. In this release the DAIS feature will only be available for selected authors.

  6. BIOSIS Archive - retrospective coverage back to 1926. Every record includes an English abstract, even for records that did not include an abstract originally (common for older material) Abstracts were written by scientists in the life sciences, many of them are now renowned researchers. BIOSIS indexing such as Major Concepts, Concept codes, Super Taxa, Disease, geographic and Chemical data is included.

  7. Zoological Record Archive – coverage back to 1864 Each record includes specialized Zoological Record indexing such as Descriptors and Super Taxa.

  9. Web Citation Index Same look and feel as the Web of Science, including the ability to search and navigate via citations. Full text is searchable but the user must link to the original record to view

What else is new? • EndNote Web Integration – When viewing a record in ISI Web of Knowledge, you will be able to see if it is already included in your EndNoteWeb library • Additional Open Access Links • New format for ResearchSoft alerts - now uses tagged data for easier handling • ISBN-13 – changes to ISI Proceedings and BIOSIS products to handle the new format of ISBN • Refine literature type – added functionality to the Refine tool for Biological Abstracts and BIOSIS Previews • Enhancements to Journal Use Reports – Now supports the upload of usage reports in XML format. JUR is now integrated with Scholarly Stats
