WHO - FAMILY OF INTERNATIONAL CLASSIFICATIONS NETWORK ANNUAL MEETING 2014 Committee and Reference Group Report for Thursday, 16 October 2014 11-17 October 2014Barcelona, Spain C&RG SWP Report Key Priorities and Deliverables • Purpose • support WHO and WHO-FIC Network in keeping the WHO Family of International Classifications (WHO-FIC) Reference Classifications (RF) up to date in line with current knowledge. • Functions • in regard to current RF: ICD-10 and ICF • Developing update policy, update coordination & decision making; • Delivering update documents to be published on WHO websites. • In regard to ICD-11 Revision • Identification of issues of synchronization and transition of updating ICD-10 with/to revising ICD-11 and updating URC policy;

WHO - FAMILY OF INTERNATIONAL CLASSIFICATIONS NETWORK ANNUAL MEETING 2014 Committee and Reference Group Report for Thursday, 16 October 2014 11-17 October 2014Barcelona, Spain C&RG SWP Report URC Recommendations • ICD-10 Recommendation #1 Remove all links and references to histopathology codes in the ICD-10 index and do not add the updated ICD-O-3 codes. Add a link to ICD-O-3 within ICD-10 so that all users have the most up to date information. The link should refer to the respective WHO website where that version can be found. • ICD-10 Recommendation #2 That there be another major update to ICD-10 in 2019. • ICD-10 Recommendation #3 That the most recent version of ICD-10 be on the WHO website before the next URC submission round to reduce the risk of errors and  minimize confusion.  • ICF Recommendation #1 That a 2015 version of ICF be published on WHO website that includes all updates that have been approved so far.This version should be available as an online version and in PDF format.

WHO - FAMILY OF INTERNATIONAL CLASSIFICATIONS NETWORK ANNUAL MEETING 2014 Committee and Reference Group Report for Thursday, 16 October 2014 11-17 October 2014Barcelona, Spain C&RG SWP Report Future and Continuing Tasks • Preparation and deliverance of annual and combined update documents for publication on WHO website. • draft version of annual update documents will be provided by URC secretariat early December; • cross-check by URC members is expected before end of the year; • final version to be delivered to WHO till January 31, 2015. • Further discussion related to the Information Note on Synchronization and transition from ICD-10 update and ICD-11 revision process. • URC members are encouraged to send comments and questions to WHO • A synopsis of the feedback of URC members will be provided by WHO to support further discussions and will make sure that relevant points are taken into account. • A new version of the Information Note should be provided to the URC early enough before next year’s annual meeting • Establishing a URC share point for documents
