  2. There are numerous beautiful birds that exist today; some sing or talk more than others, some are more intelligent than others and some make great pets. It has been said that they have an intellect similar to that of dolphins and chimpanzees. African Grey parrots have the ability to mimic up to 2,000 different sounds. Their exceptional talking and cognitive abilities means that they interact well with their owners and are a joy to have as a favorite pet.

  3. These magnificent parrots are able to develop such a wide and extensive vocabulary that they seem so human to their owners because of their great communication skills. It is the most beautiful of the parrot species.These parrots have a life expectancy of about 60 years and though they are wonderful to have as pets.

  4. They are very social birds and will quickly adopt their new family into their world. African Grey parrots will entertain for hours, but only if they are carefully looked after with the right diet, social needs and housing.There are two different types of African Grey Parrot- the Congo African Grey and The Timneh African Grey.

  5. The Congo African GreyIt has a light gray body with a red tail. It is among the most gorgeous and easiest of the parrot family to keep. These are large, intelligent and active birds. It is one of the most delightful breeds of bird to own as a pet.

  8. It has a much darker charcoal gray body with a less red and more maroon tail. They weigh between 275 and 400 grams and measure about 9 to 11 inches from tail to beak. These are the most popular talking parrots because of its clear pronunciation of words and sounds.In general they either may live anywhere between 25 to 50 years.
