  1. CER Update Industry Governance Group 9th July 2009

  2. Tariffs Retail Tariff Timetable • Regarding consultations there has been a delay in the publication of: • PES allowed Revenue • Duos & TUOS Allowed Revenue and charges. We hope to publish these shortly.

  3. Electricity Retail Market Information Report • Retail Market Information Report for 2008 will be published shortly – contains statistics on overall customer nos, consumption, load profiles, market shares, prices and churn rates. • Also includes individual market share update on Q1 of 2009

  4. Smart Metering (1) • Electricity Residential CBT • 5,960 residential customers accepted as of 29th April which exceeds 5,375 target – surplus put on “reserve” list. • C.150 “key stakeholders” to be included in CBT is currently being finalised – c.100 nominations • Over 5523 installed by 29th June • Benchmark data collection period begins 1st July.

  5. Smart Metering (2) • Electricity SME CBT • 865 customers recruited by 14th April which exceeds the target which is now 748 (increased by 20 to negate CoS fallout incurred) • 677 SME meters installed by 29th June – behind schedule due to late delivery & installation of 3 phase meters. • Meter install delays have resulted in recommended 9mth benchmark period not being achieved for all Night Savers. • SME multi-site case studies (max 50meters) - 16 meters installed by 29th June.

  6. Smart Metering (3) • GAS Residential & SME CBT • 1,925 gas meters for Residential “experimental” trial. • 50 gas meters are required for Gas SME case studies – to supplement results from British SME trials. • 750 gas meters for technical trials. • Meter procurement in progress with ESBN • installation of all 1,975 meters to complete mid-Nov. • Benchmark period 1st Dec 2009 – 31st May 2010. • Test period 1st June 2010 – 31st May 2010. • SME study detailed scope to be agreed – workshop 16th July. • Prepayment (Gas & Electricity) • Tender documents to be prepared – industry meeting took place 15th June – BGES & ESBCS to revert with proposals/budgets/timelines for development of prepayment “electronic purse” to be used in thin meter proof of concept trial.

  7. CER actions 493 - Schedule meeting with participants to discuss the BGE proposal for dealing with the DSFA scheme

  8. Switching (1) • There have been 221,200 switches (MRSO data)

  9. Switching issues (2) • Connection letter has been cancelled • Social welfare – circulated BG letter
