  2. Lincoln’s Tomb Abraham Lincoln was assonated in The Ford’s Theater on April 14, 1865. Lincoln’s Tomb is Abraham Lincoln’s final resting place along with his wife Mary Todd Lincoln and three of their four sons. Lincoln’s Tomb is located in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Springfield IL. Oak Ridge is the largest cemetery in Illinois and the 2nd most-visited cemetery in the U.S.

  3. The Monument Lincoln’s Tomb is marked by a 117-foot tall granite obelisk surmounted with several bronze statues of Lincoln inside and outside of the tomb. The tomb was constructed by Larkin G. Mead during the year 1874.

  4. Lincoln’sBust The bust is located near the front entrance of Lincoln’s Tomb. The original marble bust is located in the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C.

  5. Legend of Lincoln’s Bust Legend says if you rub the nose of Lincoln you will receive good luck. This is why the nose on the statue is so polished.

  6. North of the present day tomb at the base of the hill you can still see the old receiving vault. Where Lincoln and his son Willie’s remains were laid to rest in 1865. The Old Receiving Vault

  8. When entering Lincoln’s Tomb you will notice a bronze statue of Lincoln in the center. This statue is a replica of the famous marble sculpture in the Lincoln Memorial at Washington, D.C. Entering the Tomb

  10. The Final Resting Place Of Abraham Lincoln

  11. Lincoln’s Tomb is also the final resting place for Mary, William, Edward, and Thomas Lincoln. Their other son Robert T. Lincoln is buried in Arlington National Cemetery. The Final Resting Place of Lincoln’s Family

Visiting Lincoln’s Tomb Open for Visitors May through Labor Day in September Monday-Sunday 9-5 pm After Labor Day through October Tuesday-Saturday 9-5 pm November through February Tuesday-Saturday 9-5 pm Special Events Wreath Laying Ceremony June 5th through August 28thTuesday nights at 7 pm. This includes Flag-Lowering Ceremony by the 114th Infantry Regiment Illinois Volunteers Reactivated.
