And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads. sign Revelation 12:1-3

  3. And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born. And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne. And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days. Revelation 12:4-6

The Dragon’s Angels • These angels are organized by rank • Perhaps one of the more powerful ones is the angel of the bottomless pit (Rev 9:11) • The angel that spoke to Daniel in Dan 10:13 fought against high-ranking angels on his way to see Daniel • It is important for believers to understand that there are forces and objectives at work that underlie the physical realm which science cannot reveal

  8. Overcome! • Remember two things: • “He who is in you is greater that he who is in the world (John 4:4) • “For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of efei which is in Messiah Yeshua our Lord (Romans 8:38-39)

  9. And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. The third part of the Stars of heaven from verse 4 Revelation 12:7,8

  10. And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. Revelation 12:9

  19. And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. Revelation 12:9

  20. And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our Elohim, and the power of his Messiah: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our Elohimday and night. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death. Revelation 12:10,11

  21. How did they overcome? • His Blood Heb 9:12 • Word of testimony Mt 4:4,7,10; Eph 6:10-18; Isa 59:17 • Book of Life Ex 32:32; Dan 12:1 • Loved not their lives Rom 6:11-13; 2nd Tim 1:12; Acts 20:24; • cf. 2 witnesses of Ch 11

  22. Exodus 32:31-33 And Moses returned unto efei, and said, Oh, this people have sinned a great sin, and have made them gods of gold. Yet now, if thou wilt forgive their sin--; and if not, blot me, I pray thee, out of thy book which thou hast written. And efeisaid unto Moses, Whosoever hath sinned against me, him will I blot out of my book.

  23. Daniel 12:1 And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.

  24. Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time. Revelation 12:12

  25. Rejoice! • Heaven and its people also rejoice over the fall of Babylon when God avenges them (Rev 18:20; 19:1-3) • Even the fields and woods are said to rejoice over the eventual redemption of Israel (Isa 44:23) • And the arrival of Messiah to judge the earth in righteousness (Psalm 96:11-13) Ultimately, God will dwell (tabernacle) among men (Rev 21:3)

  26. Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time. Revelation 12:12

  27. And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child. And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent. Revelation 12:13,14

  28. Israel’s Respite • Eagle Ex 19:4; Deut 32:10-13 • Eagles’ wings From Egypt Ex 19:4 • wilderness Deut 32:11-12 • return from Babylon Isa 40:31 • Wilderness: Mt 24:16 • Edom, Moab, Ammon escape AntimessiahDan 11:41;Isa 11:16; Ezek 20:35-38 • Door of hope Hos 2:14-15; Ex 15; Zeph 2:3 • Earth swallows enemies of ElohimNum 16:31-33; Micah 7:15

  30. The Face of the Serpent • Also translated as presence, the word used is prosōpou • She is protected from the face or countenance of Satan • This denotes his inability to access her • It is used “in all kinds of more or less symbolic expressions which, in large part, represent OT usage, and in which the face is often to be taken as the seat of the faculty of seeing.”Danker, A Greek-English Lexicon of the New Testament and Other Early Christian Literature, 720 • She is hidden from his access, and possibly even from his knowledge!

  31. And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood. And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth. And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of Elohim, and have the testimony of osfei Messiah. Revelation 12:15-17

  32. Water as a Flood • The origin of this flood is a sign (the mouth of the great dragon) and the text says like a flood • It is best to take this as a figure of speech denoting the overwhelming military force of an adversary (Ps 65:7; 69:2-4; 124:1-5; Isa 8:7; 59:19; Jer 46:7-8; Dan 9:26; 11:21-22) • Carried away is Potamophorēton, which denotes drowning • Satan desires to drown her with his flood, but God has plans to regenerate her with His living water (Eze 36:25-27; John 7:38-39)

  34. The Earth Helped the Woman • The earth itself is inanimate • This speaks of God’s help manifested through nature, a common aspect of God’s miraculous dealings with his people (Exodus 9:23-25; Joshua 10:11; Job 38:22-23; Isaiah 11:15; Ezekiel 38:22)

  36. Swallowed Up the Flood • Swallowed is katepien, a compound word meaning “drink down” • Previously, God used the earth to literally swallow Korah and his household “So they and all those with them went down alive into the pit; the earth closed over them, and they perished from among the assembly” (Num 16:33 cf. Num 26:10; Ex 15:12) • It seems likely that something similar will occur to those who pursue the woman

  38. The Remnant of Her Seed • This speaks directly of the physical descendants of Abraham • This does not mean that Gentile believers will escape persecution during this time (Rev 6:9; 7:14; 20:4) • But it will be doubly difficult for the Jewish believers because God has revealed the uniquely Jewish terror of this time:

  39. The Remnant of Her Seed “At that time Michael shall stand up, the great prince who stands watch over the sons of your people; and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation, even to that time. And at that time your people shall be delivered, every one who is found written in the book.”Dan 12:1 “Alas! For that day is great, so that none is like it; and it is the time of Jacob’s trouble, but he shall be saved out of it.” Jer 30:7

  40. The Remnant of Her Seed • In the Holocaust under Hitler, one-third of the world’s Jewish population died. Under the fierce persecution of the Antichrist, controlled and energized by Satan, two-thirds of the Jewish population will die (Zec 13:7-9) • This will be the largest and most intense persecution of the Jews ever known in history

  41. The Remnant of Her Seed • Zechariah 13:8-9 indicates that only one-third of Israel will survive the tribulation and enter the millennium. • This will result in an “all saved” Israel as prophesied by Romans 11:26 • At the beginning of the last decade of the twentieth century there were approximately fifteen million Jews worldwide, so, if this is a guide, it suggests that about five million Jews will enter the millennium and ten million Jews will perish in the Great Tribulation

  42. Isaiah 10:20-23 And it shall come to pass in that day That the remnant of Israel, and such as have escaped of the house of Jacob, will never again depend on him who defeated them, but will depend on efei, the Holy One of Israel, in truth. The remnant will return, the remnant of Jacob, to the Mighty Elohim. For though your people, O Israel, be as the sand of the sea, A remnant of them will return; the destruction decreed shall overflow with righteousness. For efeiElohim of hosts will make a determined end in the midst of all the land. He Will Not Succeed!
