  3. Lesson Objective • To identify the technical components of a individual/team skill • To understand how to develop the technique of a individual/team skill • To be able to explain the principles of attack and defence in a individual/team game

  4. What is Practical sport • You will be able to demonstrate a range of skills, techniques and tactics in sport • You will know the rules, regulations and scoring systems of selected sports • You will understand the roles and responsibilities of officials in selected sports • You will be able to analyse the sports performance of an individual or team

  5. THE PERFECT MODEL!

  6. The perfect model • This is what you would class as how to do something correct every time you try it • Technically if you follow the perfect model you should achieve your goal e.g. Pass the ball to your teammate, score a basketball free throw, putt the ball into the hole from 20 feet

  7. Worksheet 1A From the following pictures choose 1 from the team sports and 1 from the individual sports. What is the ‘perfect technical model’ highlight the key technical points for the different techniques. Use the headings below for the table.

Progressive Practise • To achieve your perfect technical model you will first need to practise practise practise • To help someone get to the expert level they have not been taught how to do the difficult skills first they are developed over time • Design 3 practises that show progression to get from a basic to an advanced level for the skill of your choice • You can use diagrams to help show your practise
