What do Biomedical Engineering Technicians do? • Biomedical engineering technicians (BMETs) are electronics engineering technicians who work in hospitals and medical research centers to: • Evaluate new equipment • Perform preventive maintenance • Perform corrective maintenance • Perform equipment calibration • Administer electrical safety tests

  3. What do Biomedical Engineering Technicians do? • BMETs also work in the biomedical instrumentationindustry as: • technicians • service representatives • sales consultants

  4. Job Titles of our Graduates • Biomedical equipment technician • Systems technician • Service technician • Medical engineering service coordinator • Clinical engineering technician • Research associate

  5. What expertise will I have when I complete the program? • You will have knowledge of: • Electricity/electronics principles • Medical instrumentation • Physiological systems • Computer-controlled systems • The latest electronic information sources, including the Internet
