FRA Workforce Development Initiative FRA Workforce Development Team (FRA-WDT): Lead: Ms. Monique Stewart Champions: Dr. John Tunna (Director, FRA Office of Research & Development) Mr. Kevin Kesler (Division Chief, FRA Office of Research & Development) Members: Ms. Debra Chappell (FRA Office of Railroad Safety) Dr. Pasi Lautala (Michigan Technological University) Mr. Lloyd Parker (T. White Parker) Background: The FRA-WDT was organized by the Office of Research & Development in response to the DOT National Transportation Workforce Development Strategy Initiative and consists of representatives of FRA and academia, as well as Workforce Development consultants. Approach: Serve as the FRA delegate to the DOT Education and Workforce Development Group Develop a Railroad Industry Modal Profile and facilitate annual republications Increase awareness of current rail workforce challenges and initiatives Assist in developing a comprehensive strategy to address workforce challenges, as appropriate Respond to workforce-related requests provided by DOT and industry stakeholders, as required Presentation Title: Federal Railroad Administration Workforce Development Initiative
