  2. FEMALE STATUES • Believed to have been made before she became ‘king’ – it depicts her in a female role that she held as queen and gave up to her daughter • King’s great wife • Painted limestone

  3. Same pose – she’s obviously still female but wearing the Nemes headdress • Red granite

  4. She’s wearing the wig of females. • Statue at Deir el Bahri • Found at her funerary temple but it could have been made very early on in her reign

  5. This statue shows both male and female. • She’s still got female characteristics but she’s wearing the nemes with the uraeus and the false beard.

  6. There is very little left of this statue, but you can see the false beard of the pharaoh

  7. Traditional warrior pharaoh – sphinx – statue • No female likeness left • Wearing the nemes and false beard • The ureaus was there but has broken off.
