  1. OPA – vJ – 27Aug12 WG78/SC214 Sub-group meeting10-14 Sep 12

  2. OPA-PU10-vJ-27Aug12 Annex E (Approach) Performance Specs to satisfy ATS Functions (section 2): Annex F (RCP for CPDLC); Annex G (RSP for ADS-C); Annex H (RIP for D-FIS) Performance Specs are expressed by 4 parameters: Timings + Continuity Availability Integrity Perf Specs: End-to-end + Allocations Draft update ICAO/Doc 9869 (RCP Manual) consistent with ‘78/214’ OPA TBD at OPLINKP (next week)

  3. Main OPA Updates Editorial improvements throughout the OPA CPDLC: ‘Special’ RCP for DCL ADS-C: - Modified Time-seq diagram - Combined FMS & Avionics: AC System Kept term ‘RSP’ (TBD at OPLINKP) CPDLC and ADS-C: - Combined ATSU and ACSP: ATSP - Removed ATS function: CDP D-FIS: - Completed Perf Spec (RIP) for D-FIS services, In addition to RCP for CPDLC and RSP for ADS-C

  4. D-FIS Performance Spec (RIP)

  5. TRN=RITP Time-Seq Diagram DFIS Service Provider AIRCRAFT ACSP Source DFIS server Comm. service Aircraft System Flight crew Composition (Initiator) D-FIS request (Demand/Update Contract) Contract Response Time Contract Response Time Or when available Positive Acknowledgment RIP Demand/1st Update report Recognition (Initiator) Update Occurrence RIP Next Update report Recognition (Initiator)

  6. Need for different RIPs? • ATS functions for D-FIS: • ATIS, NOTAM, VOLMET, RVR (airport info) • No need report delivery within max time • Receipt requested Report when available • Requirement only Integrity and Availability • Led to RIP-OTR (DOTIS and D-RVR) • HZWX (all ENVs) • SIGMET, SAR reports are time-sensitive, dynamic • Supports planning and near-term decisions (3-20min) • Need report delivery within max time • Controller uplinks CPDLC msg to alert affected FC that report is available. • Led to RIP180 (ENR-1, TMA, APT) and RIP400 (ENR-2)

  7. INT Req: Absence of Response • INT Part 2/Section 4.1.2 specifies Termination timer (DFIS Service Prov). • Used to detect the absence of a response (system or human) to any received FIS demand/update contract request in an acceptable period of time. • Required for ATIS/NOTAM/VOLMET/RVR reports? Or Not required for none of D-FIS services?

  8. Perf Specs DFIS services • RIPs are based on single/1st Update report • RIP180 & RIP400: • Considered 20Kbyte report • Timing values for D-HZWX Provider • Large and same for all ENV • Retrieval from source, external to D-HZWX Provider • Timing values for AC system • Same for all ENV • For details, refer to OPA draft
