ESSNet on Standardisation

This project aims to contribute to an integrated statistical system in the ESS by defining standardisation processes and inventorying standards. It involves collaboration between Hungary, United Kingdom, France, Netherlands, Latvia, Lithuania, and Italy.

History of the ESSNet on Standardisation (2) • 27 June 2012. – Framework Partnership Agreement (FPA) received by the HCSO • 13 August 2012.– deadline for submitting FPA to the EUROSTAT • 14 September 2012.– FPA is signed by the EUROSTAT and the HCSO • 21 September 2012.– Specific Grant Agreement n° 1 (SGA1) received by the HCSO • 25 October 2012.– deadline for submitting SGA1 to the EUROSTAT

Work packages of the ESSNet on Standardisation (1) • Objectives of the WP1 - Inventory of standards and quasi-standards • ‘The objectives of this Work Package are to provide a complete inventory of standards and quasi-standards with relevant descriptions. This inventory will serve as the basis for further analysis in order to highlight areas where there is a lack of standards and fields where there are more than one standard available.’

Work packages of the ESSNet on Standardisation (3) • Objectives of WP2 - Framework and documentation • ‘The objective of this Work Package is to finetune the deliverables of Pillar 2 of the Sponsorship on Standardisation, such as the standard-making process, the SWOT analysis of the standards and case studies for the SWOT analysis.’

Work packages of the ESSNet on Standardisation (5) • Objectives of the WP3 - Case studies • ‘Closely related to the original Pillar 3 of Sponsorship on Standardisation, this Work Package aims at analysing a number of standardisation projects to collect information on good practices, potential risks and other factors.’

Work packages of the ESSNet on Standardisation (7) • Objectives of WP4 - Communication and dissemination to the ESS • ‘The task of communication is very important for the ESSNet on Standardisation as many ongoing or already finished projects deal with the task to develop and further enhance standard solutions to be used in the ESS. One of the main objectives of this Work Package is to participate at meetings and workshops to exchange the information and knowledge on the issue and to collect and give feedback to strengthen the link between the ESSNet on Standardisation and other related projects. Another important objective is to actively involve non-participating NSIs in the work and validate the results and findings of this ESSNet.’ • Deliverables of the WP4 - Communication and dissemination to the ESS • Deliverable 1, M1 Communication plan

Work packages of the ESSNet on Standardisation (8) • Objectives of the WP5 - Management : • ‘The ESSNet on Standardisation is carried out by 7 NSIs where each Work Package leader NSI will be responsible for its own Work Package and its deliverables, therefore this task is divided between Work Package leaders and the coordinator. The communication between ESSNet partners is essential and it will be coordinated by the HCSO.‘ • Deliverables of the WP5 - Management : • Deliverable 1, Interim report • Deliverable 2, Final report
