  3. Bon Jovi rock band information He first put a rock band together when he was 13. He began singing when he got out of high school (21) and recorded a song called “Run Away” in 1983. In 1983 Jon Bongiovi changed his last name and respelled it to “Jovi”.

  4. More details on his band He helped launch the Philadelphia Soul of the Arena Football League in 2004. For his first professional recording gig, he sang vocals on the 1980 holiday album Christmas in the Stars(Star wars album).
