  8. “Paul Revere’s Ride” • This narrative poem is about Paul Revere who was a silversmith in Boston before the American Revolution started. • Revere was part of the group of men that were protesting the King’s taxes. • Americans had stored guns in a nearby town of Concord, Massachusetts in case they would need to defend themselves against the British soldiers.

  9. “Paul Revere’s Ride” • The British found out about the stored weapons and were marching toward Concord to get the guns. • Paul Revere heard about what the British were doing. He got on his horse and rode out into the towns around Boston. • He warned the Americans that the “British are coming.” • The Americans were able to move the guns to another secret spot and fight the British back into Boston. This was the first time Americans had fired guns at the King’s soldiers.
