  1. 30 Book Reading Challenge Challenge: Your challenge is to read 30 books during your 5th grade year. The goal is to read many different genres (mystery, biography, historical fiction, etc.) and types of books (award winning, picture book, etc.). The 12 books you are required to read during the school year count toward your challenge. A book that is over 250 pages counts as 2 books for this challenge. Assignment: Read a type of book found on the attached paper. After you finish reading a book, you will fill out a summary/ reflection sheet and post it in the classroom. (Note: 12 of these will be required during the school year) These reflection sheets will be used by your classmates as recommendations of books to read. Choosing the Right Book: Use the strategies you have learned to pick a Just Right Book. Your book should have an AR level of 4.0 or higher or a Lexile score of 750 or higher.
