  5. JCats Goal: Our goal is to deliver to the LHS Freshman team 20 boys that have developed fundamentally sound offensive and defensive skills, court awareness, sportsmanship and community affairs involvement.

  6. JCats Coaching Priorities:

  7. Emphasis on Developing Good Shooters • Dedicated time each practice for shooting instruction. • Shooting club

  8. Develop Sound Fundamentals: • Layups, left/right • Dribbling, left/right – head up, see the court. • Pivoting • Man-to-man defense, good shuffling techniques. • Rebounding • Develop one-on-one skills. • “Read and react” offensively and defensively.

  9. Teach an up-tempo offensive scheme – run under control.

  10. Emphasize a simple, attacking offensive plan.

  11. To instill a competitive nature in the boys… Teach them they need to work hard in order to improve.

  12. To teach the boys to compete to win.

  13. Inspire the boys to participate in our community affairs program.

  14. For the boys to have fun and want to play basketball at LHS.
