  2. VigyanPrasar VigyanPrasar is an autonomous organisation setup by the Government of India's Department of Science and Technology in 1989, to undertake large scale science popularisation tasks in the country. The primary objective of VP is to promote and propagate-as widely as possible-a scientific, rational outlook in society. 3. Activity Kits Development Programme • Developing low cost scientific kits, toys and experiments on different scientific topics in a simple and interesting manner so the interest of the children may continue towards science. • Organizing workshops/Demonstration programmes/ Training in different parts of the country for teachers and students on the basis of activity kits developed by VP. • Providing Hands on activities on science for VIPNET Clubs. Achievements: • VP has developed activity kits on, Total Solar Eclipse, Earthquake, Venus Transit, Electronics, Visual Books Based on Opto-Electronics Emergence of Modern Physics, Astronomy, Weather and Biodiversity,Chemistry. • Patent has been awarded by Indian Patent office for Visual Books based on Opto- Electronics.

  4. Networking: Govt. Schools under various states, State S&T Councils ,KendriyaVidyalaya, NavodayaVidyalaya, Science Museums, Bal Bhawan, Bal Bharti groups of Schools, DAV Groups of Schools, Amity Group of schools, State S&T Councils, IAPT, NGO’s ect. Future Plans: • Developed activity kits on different subjects like Aerodynamics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Robotics, Life science, Energy, Natural Disaster etc. • Networking with other agency made more strengthen. • Demonstration programmes/workshops will be organized to create the resource persons in different part of the country . • Electronics will be promoted as a hobby among the children.

  5. Activity Kit on Electronics VP developed an activity kit on electronics. This kit contains 20 experiments on electronics and is being used for conducting workshops and demonstration programmes in different parts of the country. This activity kit is useful for children, teachers and electronics hobbyist.

  6. Activity kit on Weather and Biodiversity VigyanPrasar is planning to develop an activity kit on “Weather”. Around 35 do-it-yourself types of activities on weather have been sort-out. Process of designing the final kit is still going on. This kit will be used as a resource material for training programmes under International Year of the Planet Earth 2008 .

  7. Activity kit on Earthquake

  9. Emergence of Modern Physics

  10. Astronomy Kit Know more about astronomy through activities. There are 32 activities in the kit. Some of the activities are:   Star Dial, Measuring the altitude of starYou can also make a model of Venus Transit, Realize why do the stars twinkle, make a pinhole camera, observe visible light spectra and can do many more activities. One solar filter and one poster for sky view are also provided in the kit.

  11. Chemistry Kit

  12. Demonstration programmes on several activity kits developed by VP are being conducting in schools, teacher’s workshops, fairs, summer workshops, science clubs in different places in the country. Several demonstration programmes were also designed for the EduSat network of VP. Demonstration programmes on activity kits developed by Vigyan Prasar
