  19. 2008 funding Istituto Nazionale di Geofisica e Vulcanologia

  20. Main sources of institutional funding • MUR (Ministry of University and Scientific Research) • DPC (Civil Defense Department) • EU (European Community) • PNRA (National Program for Antarctic Research) • Regions-Local administrations • Private-Industry

  21. Analyzing how funding is distributed We partitioned all “external” funding over the various activities of INGV. In particular funding from all projects active in 2008 was: • considered for the full expected income regardless of whether the funding was effectively allocated/made available when it should have; • normalized to 2008 (if the project has a longer duration); • spread over the relevant Obiettivi Specifici and summed up. For each Obiettivo Specifico we also computed the “equivalent funding” arising from the number person/months allocated to each OS in the previous Triennal Plan.

  22. Analyzing how funding is distributed

  23. Distribution by Obiettivo Generale Total net funding from non-institutional sources: 17.1 MEuro + 20.5 MEuro from 2007-2009 INGV-DPC agreement

  24. Distribution by Obiettivo Specifico

  25. Consolidated 2007 budget

  26. Consolidated 2007 budget

  27. 2007 scientific & editorial production Istituto Nazionale di Geofisica e Vulcanologia

  28. 2007 Publications (fully published only) Publications on peer-reviewed JCR Journals: 276 “Other publications” (technical reports, bulletins, etc): 214 TOTAL 490 Note: the publication list on the Triennial Plan 2008-2010 included papers “in press” that eventually appeared in 2008 and hence were not considered here
