Invasion of Poland • The Invasion of Poland, and the Poland Campaign in Germany, was an invasion of Poland by Germany, the Soviet Union, and a small Slovak contingent that marked the start of World War II in Europe. • The invasion began on 1 September 1939, and ended on 6 October 1939 with Germany and the Soviet Union dividing Poland.

  3. Invasion of Belgium • The invasion of Belgium, known as the Rape of Belgium. The German army engaged in numerous attacks against the civilian population of Belgium, and destruction of civilian property. • 6,000 Belgians were killed. • 25,000 homes and other buildings. • 1,500,000 Belgians fled from the invading German army (20% of the entire Belgian population)

  4. Invasion of France • The Battle of France was the German invasion of France and the Low Countries, beginning on 10 May 1940. • German armored units pushed through the Ardennes, to cut off and surround the Allied units that had advanced into Belgium.

  5. Invasion of Yugoslavia • The Invasion of Yugoslavia was the Axis Powers' attack on the Kingdom of Yugoslavia which began on 6 April 1941. The invasion ended with the unconditional surrender of the Royal Yugoslav Army on 17 April 1941.

  6. Invasion of Greece • The Battle of Greece is the conquest of Greece by Nazi Germany in April 1941. • Greece was supported by British Commonwealth forces, while the Germans' Axis allies Italy and Bulgaria played secondary roles.
