HP TRIM – Common Architecture HP TRIM architecture consists of the three main components The HP TRIM client includes all the functionality necessary to interface with and administer HP TRIM. •Client interface for End Users •Records Managers •System Administrator's • Document Stores The HP TRIM Workgroup Server is the key component in the HP TRIM architecture. •Primary Database •Content Indexing •Document Stores • Document Stores HP TRIM Database e.g. SQL HP TRIM Context – Desktop Client HP TRIM – Workgroup Server

HP TRIM - Terminologies • Records • A Record is a Electronic Object existing in the TRIM database. • Files scanned with the TRIM Connector will be attached to a Record. • Record Types • Are a way to categorise “like documents” • Each record type typically has different Controls (Meta-Data) and access permissions • Record Number • The Number provided by TRIM when a Record in committed to TRIM • Containers • Similar concept to a folder that your documents should or will be contained in. • Controls • Types of meta-data associated with a Record Type - Text fields, numeric values, lists lookup etc.

  13. What is an Open Platform Connector A Toshiba Open Platform Connector provides direct CONNECTIVTY between a Toshiba MFP and Enterprise Servers. Middleware SOMETHING TO REMEMBER – we NEVER edit or configure the ENTERPRISE SERVER.   14. TRIM Connector - Architecture The TRIM Connector can be installed on TRIM Client PC or TRIM Workgroup Server. TRIM Workgroup Server with TRIM Context Installed TRIM Context Desktop Client The TRIM Connector utilises TRIM Context to interface with TRIM. An important pre requisite of the TRIM Connector is that it is installed on either a PC or Server where TRIM Context is available and configured i.e. a licenced TRIM system.• Document Stores Workgroup Server

  15. System Requirements - OS As an example if you have 20 MFP’s all requiring to scan into TRIM you will need purchase 2 TRIM Connector licenses for Server Based OS and 4 for Desktop Based OS.
