  1. Get to know the East Fishkill Community Library

  2. These are the days and times I can visit my library. • Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday: 10AM – 8PM • Friday: 10AM – 6PM • Saturday: 10AM – 5PM • Sunday (September – May) 12PM – 4PM

  3. There are bathrooms near both entrances.

  4. The library has areas for adults, teens, and children. The space for children is behind the blue and green panels.

  5. There are books, DVDs, music CDs, Kits (a book and CD together), and Audiobooks for me to borrow.

  6. Everything in the library is labeled and grouped by type, so I can search for what I want. Each item also has a barcode and stamp so it is easy to know it belongs to our library.

  7. Signs help me locate the different types of library materials and the different reading levels.

  8. There are puzzles, toys and games I can play quietly with while I am in the library. I should tidy up when I am finished.

  9. There is a computer just for children I can use to play games. I can bring my own headphones if I want to. My grownup can also borrow an iPad for me to use in the library.

  10. My library has rulesfor everyone to follow. I can talk, read, or play quietly. I can have a covered drink. I can sit where I am comfortable. I should not run and I should clean up when I am finished with any toys or books.

  11. In the Children’s Area there is a door that exits to the patio.

  12. My library even has outside spaces for me to enjoy!

  13. The people who work in the library and even the volunteers all wear ID badges. I can always ask them for help, or to show me where things are.

  14. This is the desk where I can borrow things with my library card. I will always get a receipt showing the items I have and when they are due to be returned.

  15. When I am ready to return the things I borrowed, I have two places to choose from. Inside, at the Checkout Desk. Outside, in the big silver Drop Box.

  16. Many of the programs for children, like storytimes and crafts, are held in the Alley Room. Grownups can check our online and printed calendars to see everything we have to offer.

  17. My library is a welcoming and wonderful place!
