Definitions • Interprofessional education (IPE) – learning with, from and about. • Interprofessional learning (IPL) – learning arising from interaction between members from IPE or in the workplace. • Interprofessional practice (IPP) – working together as a team with a common purpose. Two or more members

  4. Why IPE & IPP • Improve quality of care • Focus on the needs of patients and carers • Encourages more IPE • Respects the integrity & contribution of each profession • Enhances practice • Increases professional satisfaction CAIPE 2006
