  4. eBOS Electronic Recording System RTO Online • AIS RTO authorises courses, qualifications and competencies that a school can deliver • Schools enrol students into courses, qualifications and competencies.   5. The RTO Online The AIS RTO provides access to the qualifications being delivered at the school; – based on the returned Data Collection What if I can’t see the qualification that is being delivered at the school ?

  6. The RTO Online For each Qualification the AIS RTO will provide access to the School by selecting YES. Ensuring correct qualification is opened for the course being delivered – TAS . • The qualification may not have been selected on the courses offered by your school. • The wrong qualification may have been selected by the school • The qualification has not been made available by the RTO.

  7. The RTO Online What about other UNITS added to a schools TAS? (Training and Assessment Strategy ) • All the units that the AIS RTO has included for each VET Course TAS will be opened to schools that have returned their VET Data Form. • If you are delivering different units other than those listed on the RTO TAS, they must stated on the returned TAS. • The Change must be supported by Industry Consultation • The delivering teacher must hold the unit on their qualification transcripts.

  8. Information provided by: Board of Studies, Teaching and Educational Standards (BOSTES) • Schools Online is currently open for entry of VET courses, qualifications and entered competencies. All VET Framework and VET Board Endorsed courses need to be added to a student’s record via • Schools Online by Friday, 14 March 2014. • By the end of Term 1, schools are required to enter the VET competencies that are being delivered in 2014 for each enrolled student. • Outcomes for VET competencies can be submitted progressively until the closing date at the end of the year.

  9. Schools Online • The landing page for schools on line can look different depending on the level of access your principal has provided. • Most of the Schools on line work that you do will be in the Vocational Education (VET) section and change a students enrolment

  10. Schools Online What if you can’t find the VET course being delivered at the school? It could be because the course has not been selected on the Courses Offered at your school. • Remember to get the course number correct. • Check the attached BOS Preliminary and HSC ICF course numbers – 2014

  11. eBOS Schools Online Entering Units of competency Select Competencies by students from the landing page for schools on line. • Select the Year and Cohort – Reload • Select the course.

  12. eBOS Schools Online Entering Units of competency • Select the VET Course that you intend to enter competencies for. Reload. • If the course is in transition you will need to select the qualification that the students will be exiting the course with. • High Importance

  13. eBOS Schools Online Entering Units of competency • It is possible to complete entries using the 99999999 for All Active students in this course function. • CAREFULL about doing this for achievements, as it is easy to make errors for individual students • Enter all the units being delivered by ticking the left hand box.

  14. eBOS Schools Online Entering Units of competency – Transition Hospitality • For the Hospitality transition you need to select the new qualification • Where a student has achieved a unit of competency in 2013 / old Qualification SIT20207 and it is equivalent to the new unit, it is entered and marked as Credit Transfer in the outcome status. • If the unit was not achieved in 2013, it MUST be entered as the new unit code and name for 2014, understanding that most have new names and codes. • If unit is not equivalent to the New Qualification the trainer/teacher MUST ensure that the HSC content for the old and the AQF requirements have been delivered and assessed for the new qualification.

  16. eBOS Schools Online Selecting a RTO • The AIS is the RTO for most courses delivered in AIS Schools: • Business Services, • Construction Pathways • Early Childhood • Electro technology • Entertainment • Financial Services • Hospitality • IDT • Metal & Engineering • Primary Industries • Retail • Tourism. • Some VET Courses are delivered by external RTOs. For example; MTA for Automotive. • When entering your VET Competency units you need to select the correct RTO. A school can select more than ONE RTO, but will need to select one as the default – usually the most commonly accessed RTO.

  17. eBOS Schools Online Another step in the process of selecting an external training provider / RTO When selecting an outside school or TAFE, the search schools functions needs to be selected and entered into the individual students enrolment

  18. eBOS Important Dates • Schools Online is currently open for entry of VET courses, qualifications and entered competencies. All VET Framework and VET Board Endorsed courses (Preliminary and HSC) need to be added to a student’s record via • Schools Online by Friday, 14 March 2014. • By the end of Term 1, schools are required to enter the VET competencies that are being delivered in 2014 for each enrolled student. • Outcomes for VET competencies can be submitted progressively until the closing date at the end of the year. • DATES YOU NEED TO KNOW • 11th August - 12th September 2014 - SubmitHSC VET examination estimate marks • 15th September - 24th October 2014 - Submit VET competencies and Work placement hours for Year 11 • 11th August - 7th November 2014 - Submit VET competencies and Work placement hours for Year 12

The AIS RTO VET Team has a new Email Address • VET@aisnsw.edu.au • How it will be used: • As the portal for sending data such as; • VET Data Collection forms • Teacher Training applications • TAS -Training and Assessment Strategies • Sending Information such as; • Monthly newsletter • Funding Letters • Webinar support information • Your VET Consultant will still be the first point of call to assist schools in the delivery of VET and compliance issues.
