  2. Media Institutions • These are companies which distribute a media product for audience consumption • Popular media institutions: • Film Four • BBC • The UK Film Council • Vertigo Films

  3. BBC Films • They are the forefront in the production and distribution of British independent films and many feature films Vertigo Films • This UK based media company create as well as distribute commercially driven independent cinema

  4. Film Four • They showcase a wide variety of home grown British films as well as distributing international films • As well as showing films, this company also produces many films including Shane Meadows’ “This is England”. • Partnering with Wrap X Films, this company intend to expand their niche audience by creating new British and International films for a lower budget.

  5. My Media Product • In terms of my media product, these institutions would be ones that I would target due to the low budget I have. • The fact that these institutions are well known on the market suggests that my product would get a good reception if I went with one of these companies. • It would attract audiences from Britain as well as abroad and would hopefully be beneficial to both me and them, widening their niche audience groups.
