But no other group of people was hit more than homeowners who had to lose their homes to foreclosure. So vast and sad it was that the governments had to intervene and make very serious efforts to provide relief for many homes owners. What made things worse was the lack of timely information though. One group of people that could have played a very key role in helping homeowners manage their debts better to avoid foreclosure ought to have been real estate brokers. Unfortunately the certification course that realtors in BC go through is extremely vague on what choices residence owners facing foreclosure bc could have done to avoid residence foreclosures. The information available at the time of the downturn mainly focused on a brief discussion of the law at work.
