    1. MPN Data Transport Solutions Xpress G2 Connector Termination (LC Connector to OM3 Fiber) Module 4 – Molex Lightband Fibre optic solutionsModule 4 – Molex Lightband Fibre optic solutions

    2. Connector body with plastic wedge Connector boot Xpress G2 OM3-LC Connector Components

    3. Preparing the Connector Depress the plastic wedge onto the connector body to ensure it is fixed securely

    4. Setting the Connector Ensure there is no gap between the connector groove and the “U” bridge on the Assemble Guide jig

    5. Ensure the connector is positioned correctly as shown Setting the Connector

    6. Preparing the Fiber Insert fiber through the connector boot as shown Remove the buffer and acrylic overcoat on the fiber with a good fiber optic stripper

    7. Remove 30-35mm of coating in short portions without damaging the optical fiber strand Clean the exposed fiber strand with an alcohol swab on any residue Preparing the Fiber

    8. Fiber Cleaving Fitel S-315 Cleaver is convenient and cleaves the fiber well

    9. Fiber Cleaving Cleave 9-11 mm of the optical fiber from the buffer end

    10. Dispose the cleaved optical fiber safely Avoid accidents while handling the optical fiber Fiber Cleaving

    11. Fiber Optic Termination Ensure that the guide is not extending out of the Fiber Holder Place the cleaved optical fiber in the Fiber Holder’s front cover as shown

    12. Ensure 0~2mm of the coating is visible from the front cover of the Assembly Guide jig Fiber Optic Termination

    13. Close the front and the middle covers, ensuring the fiber strand is aligned correctly Guide fiber through the groove at the back of the Fiber Holder, then close the back cover Fiber Optic Termination

    14. Place the Fiber Holder with the fiber at the base of the Assembly Guide jig and re-check the length of the exposed fiber strand with the template on the jig Fiber Optic Termination

    15. Place the Fiber Holder onto the Assembly Guide jig and ensure the exposed fiber is within the “U” bridge and positioned to enter the connector Fiber Optic Termination

    16. Slide the Fiber Holder on the Assembly Guide jig Notice that the front cover is being pushed towards and is stopped by the middle cover Fiber Optic Termination

    17. Open the middle cover without disturbing the assembly Slide the Fiber Holder further until a “click” is heard Fiber Optic Termination

    18. The optical fiber will arch, which is normal Lift the lever on the plastic wedge atop the connector Fiber Optic Termination

    19. Gradually press the sides of the plastic wedge to displace the wedge but DO NOT DISTURB THE CONNECTOR Lift open the front cover of the Fiber Holder Fiber Optic Termination

    20. Lift open the back cover of the Fiber Holder Lift the fiber connector from the Assembly Guide jig Fiber Optic Termination

    21. Slide the Boot onto the connector and lock securely to the connector Xpress G2 LC connector termination is complete Fiber Optic Termination

    23. End of Module Select in the upper right corner to continue
