Asha for Education was born on the campus of Univ of Calif. – Berkeley, in the summer of 1991, now has more than 60 chapters world-wide, has disbursed over $6 million between 1995 and 2004, supporting over 410 projects in India, impacting thousands of underprivileged children, and with thousands of grassroots volunteers on the field in India

  10. The Dallas Chapter Started in 1997, by a group of like-minded professionals and students, has channeled thousands of dollars to deserving projects, providing basic education to more than a thousand underprivileged children.

  11. Recognition Asha for Education received the highest possible rating (69.8/70) from Charity Navigator (USA) in 2004 and 2005.

  12. Asha Dallas supported Kanpur Asha Center which is a grassroots level organization with part and full-time Asha Volunteers.

  13. Asha Dallas supported Ahmedabad SAATH which empowers women through education and provides a better living for slum dwelling children.

  14. Asha Dallas supported New Delhi We Help Youth (W.H.Y.) which is a resource center that caters to children of daily wage earners, rag pickers and migrant laborers

  15. Asha Dallas supported Mysore Odanadi Seva Samsthe which aims to rescue and rehabilitate sexually exploited women and children.

  16. Asha Dallas supported Kanpur Manaviya Shiksha Sanskar Sansthan which provides basic education to children of migrant laborers and creates a self-sustenance program.

  17. Asha Dallas supported Nalgonda Marur Elementary School in reducing the number of school drop-outs and encouraging the children to study at least until 7th grade.

  18. Asha Dallas supported Kahangad Rotary School which enables and empowers mentally retarded children to become self-sufficient in their life.

  19. Asha Dallas supported Gurgaon Sankalp which strives to spread education in children of migrant laborers and helps them achieve social upliftment.

  20. Asha Dallas supported New Delhi Ahmedabad Kanpur Mysore Nalgonda Gurgaon Kahangad a total of 11 projects with some of them being funded more than once and channeled a total of $66, 896 .00 to deserving projects.
