    3. HOW SUFFERING HELPS US

    4. My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. (James 1:2-4)

    5. Romans 8:31-39 More than Conquerors!

    6. "So they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for His name."(Acts 5:41)

    7. "We are hard pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed; always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body."(Acts 5:41)

    8. SUFFERING MAKES US HUMBLE

    9. Because you say, I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing; and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked. I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see. (Revelation 3:17-18)

    10. Now when he was in affliction, he implored the LORD his God, and humbled himself greatly before the God of his fathers. (2 Chronicles 33:12)

    11. "LORD, make me to know my end, And what is the measure of my days, That I may know how frail I am. Indeed, You have made my days as handbreadths, and my age is as nothing before You; certainly every man at his best state is but vapor. Selah. Surely every man walks about like a shadow; Surely they busy themselves in vain; He heaps up riches, and does not know who will gather them." (Psalm 39:4-6)

    13. Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. (James 5:13)

    14. SUFFERING PURFIES AND PERFECTS

    15. that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ. (1 Peter 1:7)

    16. Therefore, since Christ suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same mind, for he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin, that he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh for the lusts of men, but for the will of God. (1 Peter 4:1-2)

    17. But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you. (1 Peter 5:10)

    18. It is good for me that I have been afflicted, that I may learn Your statutes (Psalm 119:71)

    19. And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character, and character, hope. (Romans 5:3-4)

    20. SUFFERING MAKES US COMPASSIONATE

    21. And if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; or if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it. (1 Corinthians 12:26)

    22. Therefore, in all things He had to be made like His brethren, that He might be a merciful and faithful High Priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people. For in that He Himself has suffered, being tempted, He is able to aid those who are tempted. (Hebrews 2:17-18)

    23. For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. (Hebrews 4:15-16)

    24. SUFFERING MAKES US THANKFUL

    25. HOW SUFFERING HELPS US

    26. And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. (Romans 8:28)
